Choosing the Right Boots
How do I choose the right boot size?
Most of our shoes have a size chart on the product page to help with selection. To use it, measure your foot and check the chart to find your correct size.
Many of our boots tend to run large, as they are designed to be worn with thicker or double socks. For most customers and shoe models, we recommend ordering one size smaller than usual. If a shoe model runs larger than average, it will be noted in the product description.
Additionally, the length given in the size chart refers to the interior length of the shoe. If you plan to wear double socks, leave at least 0.5cm – 1.5cm extra room for comfort. However, shoe fit is always personal, so compare with your other shoes and feel free to ask our customer service (bbattalion.team@gmail.com) for advice.
For genuine leather boots, the most important thing is that the length fits. If the shoe feels a bit tight in width at first, real leather will stretch and mold to your feet over time.
How do I measure my feet?
To measure your feet, step onto a piece of paper wearing socks and trace the outline of both feet, or measure against a wall as shown in the picture. Then, measure from the heel to the tip of your longest toe. It’s best to measure in the evening when your feet are slightly swollen from daily activity. Choose your shoe size based on your longer foot.
Compare the measured size with other shoes you own. If you plan to wear extra insoles or thick socks, you may need half a size up, and for double socks, about one full size up.
Leather Boots Care
How do I take care of my leather boots?
Proper care significantly extends the lifespan of leather shoes and maintains their appearance.
- Always brush off dirt and dust after use and wipe with a damp cloth if needed. Water is usually enough, but mild detergents are also suitable.
- Use a neutral leather shoe cream or treatment at least 2–4 times a year, or more frequently depending on use. Use colored creams only when the leather shows signs of wear.
- Do not store wet boots. If they get wet, dry them at room temperature (not on a radiator or in a sauna). If they are soaked, stuff them with newspaper to absorb moisture.
- Store leather boots in a dry, ventilated area. Rotate pairs to avoid excessive wear. However, avoid storing them unused for years, as this may lead to sole deterioration (hydrolysis).
How do I care for nubuck boots?
Treat them the same way as other leather shoes.
Before first use, apply a nubuck-specific treatment and, depending on the weather, a water-repellent spray. You can find these in well-stocked shoe stores and cobbler shops.
How do I maintain insoles?
After prolonged use, remove insoles and let them air out. They can also be hand-washed or machine-washed on a gentle cycle at 30°C. Do not spin-dry. Let them dry at room temperature and avoid sudden temperature changes.
